"Support" - The Game!

I recently got the opportunity to work with some very talented people over at Southern Polytechnic University's (SPSU) Summer Game Jam. A competition that HHS Ventures describes as "[A] game development challenge [that is a] proven way to bring game developers together to address a specific theme in a competitive, collaborative atmosphere, constrained by location and timeframe ... to produce prototype games."

That is, we programmers, developers, and artists were each tasked with forming (in most cases) an impromptu team to produce a video game focusing on the emotional health and wellness of teenagers in just 48 hours. To top it off, we were also asked not to use any text or spoken dialogue within the game. This was in part a design challenge, but mostly served to eliminate any language barriers, as the competition was simultaneously occurring in Moscow, Russia.

Fortunately, I paired up with some awesome team members, and long story short, we ended up winning! Everyone was a joy to work with, and I'm genuinely happy with the game we produced. Below you'll find the one-minute game trailer we submitted for judging, and if you'd like to play our short game, visit support-game.com! I'll be uploading the music to soundcloud in the near future, enjoy!
