Remix WIP

I'm currently working on another remix project for the beloved game Skies of Arcadia, originally released for the Dreamcast in 2000 and later for the GameCube. To be honest, somehow in my youth this game slipped under my radar. This is an absolute tragedy because I only heard its phenomenal soundtrack until recently. That being said, I decided to take one of its main themes and go as far in the opposite directions in terms of style as I could. As the remix album is a long, on-going, and collaborative effort, I wanted to at least preview my current contribution. It may go through some editing as it becomes reviewed by ocremix judges, but I like to hope that it is nearly finished.

Haiku Trailer

Haiku is the second game that I helped create at KSU's Game Jam this year. It's a puzzle game that requires the player to place various text syllables correctly within the pattern of a Haiku. As the theme this year was "Beat" it made sense to do a game focused on rhythm, however we wanted to do something less traditional and more educational. Music, sfx, and poetry reading were all done by me.

Windward Trailer

Windward is one of the two games that I helped conceive and develop over the KSU Game Jam of 2016. It is a virtual reality game where the player attempts to collect 5 treasures throughout the world with the fastest time. The theme of this year's game jam was "Beat", so my team thought to center a game around the concept of "beating" a nautical term used in sailing.

I created all the music and sfx for this game, and also did a little voice acting.

Persona Medley

This is a Persona 3 and 4 medley I put together. Within this piece I used melodies and themes from several tracks, including: Pursuing My True Self, The Poem for Everyone's Soul, Never More, Brand New Days, and Kimi no Kioku.
I also used a few familiar in-game sound effects, along with Igor's brilliant voice to try and make the piece a little more immersive.

KSU Fall Game Jam 2015

KSU (formerly SPSU) hosted another fantastic game jam event recently and my team pulled through with yet another win! Our game "Build for the Stars" won the event alongside several other teams, all of which were awarded free passage into SIEGEcon. Needless to say, I'm super pumped!

Here is a stellar video put together by KSU to showcase the event:

Build for the Stars

This is another game jam submission that my team created for KSU's recent Fall Game Jam. The secret rule/concept this year was "Sum of our parts", and my team came up with the awesome idea of a boy building a tower to space with his imagination. In the video you'll see the player stacking a multitude of random objects that the young boy is creating from his experiences and surroundings. One of my favorite things about the audio in this game is that when the player reaches certain heights throughout their climb, the music seamlessly transitions from a thicker, fuller sound, to a lighter, airier mood, or even a synthesized, space feeling.

Blastronauts

Here's a piece that I composed for a short 1-minute trailer at yet another Game Jam here in Atlanta. The game was designed to be a Smash type arena brawler but with laser-shooting astronauts. Because of that, I experimented more with synth, electric guitar and other effects, including the use of actual astronaut transmissions.
